L'assiette Tour de France Breakfast
By Ben Scully

Sick of watching Pro cycling home alone, a group of cycling fans, food connoisseurs & coffee aficionados got together at L’assiette cafe in Britomart, Auckland to watch the last 2 hours of Tour de France stage 14. Romain, the French owner, put on a gourmet spread of freshly baked pastries, aromatic wild mushrooms & creamy omelettes.

Perplexing to some, we attentively observed shaved leg, lycra clad, pain thirsty maniacs battle two category 1 climbs chasing down Luis Leon Sanchez as he took the stage.

There was great banter about Wiggans sideburns, Sagan vs Greipel, and how Evans somehow makes cycling look even harder than it already is. Thanks to everyone who came along and we look forward to the next event.
