Northern Arena welcomes Andrew Mackay and Tri Fit into our group fitness programme.

What is Tri Fit?

You told us that you wanted more run groups and triathlon focussed training so we did it! Tri Fit is simply triathlon and multi sport training for all. Be assured that every session will cater for all levels and abilities so that no one is left behind. We have added more run groups and introduced bike wind training sessions both of which complement our existing Swim Fit sessions - with the added bonus of a professional coach.

The Coach

Tri Fit sessions will be coached by Andrew Mackay who is a professional coach and Tri NZ Accredited. He has worked with a wide range of individuals to help them achieve their goals in running, triathlon, swimming and biking so make sure you take the time to talk to Andrew before or after a Tri Fit session or give him a call and discuss ways in which he could help you. Tri Bike

Bike Wind Training

The Northern Arena Wind trainer classes are the perfect bike sessions for individuals training for a range of bike or multisport events over the winter or they will help you prepare for the summer triathlon season. These sessions will vary throughout the season with strength and muscular endurance sets as well as some power sets to help bridge those gaps. Make sure you communicate to Andrew what you are training for, so he can work to tailor the sessions towards events that you and other Northern Arena athletes are training for. Also, prior to each wind trainer session you have the option of completing a 30min swim fit session – so for triathletes this becomes the perfect indoor brick session.

A limited number of windtrainers can be hired from Andrew on the night for $7 (prior booking is required).

Tri Run

Run Group

This is a session for people who love running (or really want to love running) and will include technique, core conditioning with a focus on developing your overall fitness. Whether you are training for your first 5km event or wanting to improve your marathon time, then this is the session for you. These sessions will have something for all levels and abilities.

Remember all sessions will have something for every level and ability - so come and give it a TRI
