Running Wild in the Nelson Lakes
This is the first in a series of articles through which I will share with readers some of my favourite spots to get off the beaten track and enjoy trail running, New Zealand style, at its very best.

Christophe Berthomier, a three-time ironman finisher is no stranger to endurance tests. In 2007 he completed a desert marathon in the south of Morocco and took on the gruelling Abu Dhabi Adventure Challenge in December 2010.

The Hillary Trail Double Mission
In mid-June I completed a double effort of the Hillary Trail in 29 and a half hours. So in summary a 149 km run (6,700 metres climb) through the Waitakere Ranges at their wettest following the 18 month old Hillary Trail Route.

The new-look Christchurch Airport Marathon is poised to become another great earthquake recovery story.  Following the February 2011 aftershock, last year’s event almost didn’t go ahead.
