Run in the Senshu Marathon

Kevin Pugh was chosen to represent Wellington in the 2011 Senshu Marathon — Wellington City Council

If you are a serious, long-distance runner and have always wanted to visit Japan then we would like to hear from you. We are offering an all-expenses paid trip to Japan - all you have to do is run a marathon and be an ambassador for Wellington.

The successful applicant will travel free to Japan on 16 February 2012, staying three nights in a hotel and three nights in a Japanese homestay, and run the Senshu International City Marathon on Sunday 19 February.

Last year's winner, Kevin Pugh, says it is an amazing opportunity and Japan was everything he expected.

"I would fully encourage Wellingtonians to apply for this amazing opportunity that I was fortunate enough to experience this year."

The deadline for entry in the competition is Tuesday 15 November.

Six finalists will be selected from the pool of applicants.

City Councillor John Morrison, the Council's Sport and Events Portfolio Leader, will draw the name of the lucky winner live on NewstalkZB between 7.00am and 9.00am on Saturday 19 November.
