GODZone partners with RebelFood to promote healthy snacks

By QT Magazine

Today the directors of the GODZone Adventure race have announced a new partnership with health food innovators RebelFood, a company who specialises in turning everyday food into highly nutritional products.

Based in Queenstown, RebelFood is new to the health food scene. After launching their first product less than six months ago, the company has rapidly risen to become a significant provider of healthy snacks in New Zealand.

“When we were first approached by Rebelfood to consider their dairy, sugar, gluten and additive free products we were instantly impressed. Athletes are constantly looking for foods that are both highly nutritional and easy to eat while training and competing,” says GODZone Race Director Warren Bates.

“The RebelFood Nutribomb is ideal for adventure racers and we are excited to welcome RebelFood on board as official nutritional suppliers to GODZone.”

GODZone competitors will not only get the chance to taste test Nutribombs but also use them as they travel across an arduous 550km course through the Nelson Tasman region next month.
RebelFood Co owner Joe Swatland says he and fellow business partners Marty James, Alex Boyes & Leoni Sullivan see real benefits in cementing ties with the world’s largestexpedition race.

“Our vision for RebelFood is to take our revolutionary health snack products to a global market place and joining with GODZone is a big step in that direction. The take up of Nutribombs in New Zealand has been rapid as we continue to expand distribution via Foodstuffssupermarkets, specialty health outlets, sports stores and gyms.”

RebelFood supports a number of leading New Zealand sportspeople through their Rebel Leader programme including Commonwealth and Olympic track cyclist Pieter Bulling and New Zealand’s number one female mountain biker, Kate Fluker. High profile Queenstown adventure racers Lisa Bates, Mark Williams, Baz Smith and Hayden Key will race as theRebelFood team at GODZone.

“We admire and respect what RebelFood has set out to do from the outset. It is testament to their raw food philosophy that so many high profile sportspeople are involved with the RebelFood movement,” says GODZone Race Director Warren Bates.

“There are other health and sports products in the pipeline with RebelFood that will be of great benefit to our sport and generally to peoples wellbeing which is something we fully support.”
