Calling all wannabe Santas!

The Wendy’s Great New Zealand Santa Run supported by Classic Hits, is calling all active Santas to participate in a 3km fun run taking place on 9th December at 6.30pm in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington and Christchurch.

Last year at the inaugural race, 250 Christmas-themed participants raced around Auckland’s Viaduct. This year the Santa Run has expanded to other main centres so more Kiwis can get involved. The challenge is to break an Australasian record for the most Santas involved in a race.

The circuit is located in a central location in each of the cities involved. The course is relatively easy, making it perfect for people of all ages and exercise abilities. This fun and quirky event is a great way to start the silly season, whether you walk it with your family or compete against work colleagues.

The nationwide event has a $30 registration fee, which secures you a full five-piece Santa suit for racing (for the first 1,100 registrations) and $15 goes directly to Cure Kids, the official charity partner of the race.

The charitable aspect of the event also ties in well with naming rights sponsor Wendy’s, who is well-recognised for its family-oriented values and honest, fresh approach to fast food. Classic Hits is also proud of its association with the race and are challenging listeners to don a Santa suit and support Cure Kids.
