Mountain running superstar for Rotorua ultra marathon
Mountain running superstar Anton Krupicka from Colorado, USA, is coming to Rotorua.
He will be competing in this year’s Vibram Tarawera Ultramarathon, making the field the strongest in the race’s four year history.
Krupicka, one of the most recognised runners in the world today, has always wanted to travel to New Zealand. An invitation from the Tarawera Ultra Race Director Paul Charteris has helped make that possible.
Krupicka has won almost every race he has entered in the United States, and is known for his massive training efforts, sometimes running over 300 mountainous kilometres in a week.
The Vibram Tarawera Ultramarathon event takes place on 17 March, with 60km, 80km and 100km options from Rotorua to Kawerau. Almost the entire run is off-road.
